Leeward Community College Family Fun Fair
On 15th November 2008, B.E.A.C.H. was invited to have an information table at the Leeward Community College Family Fun Fair. B.E.A.C.H. volunteers educated the public about the impact of marine debris on marine life and sea birds and how they could lessen the plastic load on the environment by using reusable bags.


Girl Scout Expo
On the 16th November 2008, B.E.A.C.H. had an information table at the Girl Scout Expo, Blaisdell Center. Many girl scouts and their parents came by the B.E.A.C.H. table to learn about the impact of marine debris on marine life and sea birds.



Hawai`i State Teacher's Association Science Fall Conference
B.E.A.C.H. had an information/display table at the Hawai`i State Teacher's Association Science Fall Conference on Saturday, 22nd November 2008. B.E.A.C.H. volunteers talked to science teachers about the global problem of marine debris and how to reduce plastic litter. Conference attendees were able to take samples of marine debris back to their classrooms as learning tools for their students.



Green Market Fair
On 6th December 2008, B.E.A.C.H. was invited to have a booth at the Green Market Fair at the Church of the Crossroads. B.E.A.C.H. volunteers informed people about the impact of marine debris on marine life and how using reusable shopping bags cuts down on plastic bags in the environment.
