Kauai's styrofoam ban passes!

Kauai County Bill 2775 Draft 3 will ban the use and sale of polystyrene foam food service containers.


Kauai County Bill 2775 draft 3 was passed on Wednesday 9th September, 2020.

Bill 2775 Draft 3: Restricting the use and sale of polystyrene foam food service containers.  The Bill would ban food vendors from providing prepared food to customers in disposable food service ware made from polystyrene foam (aka “styrofoam”) and generally prohibits the sale or provision of polystyrene foam food service ware by food vendors effective January 1, 2022.  Also the Bill incorporates some exemptions and sets up a process to enforce the legislation as suggested by the Director.
