Dug out fishing net.
On Wednesday and Thursday February 20-21, 2008, B.E.A.C.H. volunteers, Suzanne and Dean flew to Kauai to assist the Kauai Surfrider Chapter's Net Patrol remove derelict fishing nets off Kealia Beach. After two hours one of the huge balls of net/rope was pulled out of the sand. Thanks to Barbara of the Net Patrol for inviting us over.

The day after pulling the net off the beach Suzanne gave a marine debris presentation to Hawaiian immersion school 10th graders. Most of the students are from Niihau and we were told that lots of marine debris washes up on their shores.
