Independence Day at Maunalua Bay

B.E.A.C.H. had an educational booth and was involved in reducing trash by providing recycling of beverage cans and bottles at the Independence Day at Maunalua Bay, Hawai`i Kai. B.E.A.C.H. volunteers had set up several recycle stations at the event for plastic bottles, glass bottles and aluminum cans.  Helping with this effort were visiting students with Putney Student Travel who were in Hawai`i for a month to give community service. The sixteen students aged 15 – 18 years old and the two leaders, were from nine different states: Connecticut, Pennnsylvania, Maine, New Jersey, Massachusetts, New York, Texas, Michigan, Iowa, as well as England and Italy.
